Bound Publishing Services was created by editor, copywriter and author Samantha-Ellen Bound. We aim to be a small boutique publishing and editing service catering to authors (emerging and established) and publishers, as well as for start-ups, corporate and not-for-profit organisations who need assistance with their communications. We offer creativity, integrity, professionalism, empathy and an understanding of the books and publishing industry.
Sam-Ellen is a qualified editor and published author with a background in writing and editing for not-for-profit organisations, educational institutions, start-ups and first-time authors. Her children’s and YA books have been published by Penguin Random House and her short stories have won competitions and been published in literary journals. Her qualifications include a Diploma in Writing and Editing from RMIT and a Masters in Publishing and Communications from the University of Melbourne. She has also worked for many years as a bookseller and is a member of IPED (Vic branch) and Writers Victoria.
Bound Publishing Services focuses on book publishing: copyediting, proofreading, structural editing and manuscript assessments. Sam-Ellen enjoys mentoring emerging authors and loves the creative process of helping them develop their manuscripts for first-time publication, sharing her industry knowledge and experience of the publishing process. There is no limitation on genre (fiction or non-fiction) but areas of specialty that put a twinkle in her eye include fiction for children and young adults, short stories, and adult fiction – literary and most genres (especially horror and spec fic/fantasy).
When it comes to copywriting and content editing, areas Sam-Ellen cares about and has experience in include: environment and conservation, marine science, gardening and horticulture, hiking, performing and creative arts, health and wellbeing, crafts and animal welfare.
